"My Most Memorable Experience in My London Life"

I came across this Jazzbar, called 'The Spice of Life' near Leicester Square, about four months ago, I visited it with my friends, who study with me at Oxford House College, on a school social event. But that time I didn't realise that I could play some musical instruments there, and I just saw that they held gigs.
// 내가 레스터스퀘어 근처의 재즈바-The Spice of Life-를 만난 것은 넉달 전으로, 학교 친목도모이벤트에 참가하기 위한 목적이었다. 물론 그때는 프로 뮤지션들의 공연만을 보고 있었을 뿐, 내가 연주를 할 수 있을거란 생각은 꿈에도 못했었다.

One day, by chance, my friend told me that I could have the opportunity to play drums there. To date I have visited manytimes.
// 어느날 우연히 매주 아마추어들이 모여 잼을 하는 곳이 있다는, 또한 그곳이 바로 그 재즈바라는 것을 알게 된 후, 지금까지 계속 그곳에 가고 있는 것이다.

It's quite an exciting experience which it is difficult to get in Korea, especially in Busan where I lived. It's also very creative, because I can play songs which are new to me. We just play new songs everytime using the chords which we have discussed before playing.
// 그건 한국에서는, 특히나 부산에서는 얻기 힘든 정말 소중한, 신나는 경험이다. 또한 그것은 매우 창조적인 일이다. 왜냐하면 매번 새로운 곡을 연주할 수 있기 때문이다. 우리는 연주전에 코드를 정하고 그 코드들로 매번 다른 곡들을 연주한다.

This is when we started to get to know one another and to joke together. For example, when I met Egol for the first time, he joked, "Which chord do you want?". Even though I don't need to know about chords, being the drummer, I responded, "How about 'K'?" at which we both grinned. We introduced ourselves to one another and began to chat.
// 코드를 정하는 시간은 농담과 함께 서로를 알아가는 시간이다. 내가 기타치는 이골을 처음 만났을 때의 예를 들면, 녀석이 뜬금없이 무슨 코드로 하면 좋겠냐고 묻는것이 아닌가? 아는사람은 알겠지만 사실 드러머는 코드를 알 필요가 없다. 농담이라는 얘기다. 그럼 나는 씨익 웃으면서 이렇게 받아친다. "'K'는 어때?". 이렇게 우리는 대화를 시작하고, 또 서로를 소개한다.

We usually play to an audience of about fifty, and they often respond by clapping and cheering. Even though I don't go there with my friends, this makes me feel very welcome as well as making me very happy. Actually I feel much more than happy. Their appreciation gives me a real sense of satisfaction, which is very rewarding. In fact one night after I had finished playing drums, a lady came up to me and said, "What a brilliant drummer!". That made me feel great. So this has been my most memorable experience in London sofar.
// 우리는 보통 50여명 어쩌면 그 이상의 관객들 앞에서 공연을 하며, 그들은 종종 박수와 환호로 우리에게 답례를 한다. 굳이 친구들과 같이 가지 않더라도 그들의 환호는 너무나 반갑게, 너무나 기쁘게 느껴진다. 사실 그 느낌은 행복 그 이상이다. 그들이 보내는 박수는 곧 나를 인정하는 것이며, 그것은 나에게 큰 만족감이라는 보상으로 다가온다. 실제로 어느날 밤인가 내가 드럼을 열라 치고 무대에서 내려왔을 때, 한 여인이 다가와서 내게 말을 하더라. 이런 멋진 드러머가 있냐!!라고.. 그런것들 하나하나가 내 기분을 너무나 근사하게 만든다. 또한 그것은 지금까지 나의 런던라이프에서 최고의 기억에 남는 경험이다.

I'm already afraid that when I go back to Korea I will not get such an opportunity and I will miss it. So, I've decided that, while I have the chance, I will play drums every Tuesday at the Jazzbar. The END
// 사실 벌써부터 한국에 돌아가면 이런 기회를 얻기 힘들것이라는 것 그리고 너무도 지금 이 시간이 그리울 것이라는 생각에 두렵다. 그래서.. 결심한거지. 여기있는 동안은 매주 화요일!! 그 재즈바에서 드럼을 치겠다고. ^^ 끝.
